Questions Families Ask

How do I send you my photos?

As soon as you place your order, you'll receive an email with a private upload link created just for you. Simply drag your photos in — no accounts to create, no software to install. If you'd rather not scan them, a clear phone picture of the original print works beautifully. Take your time; there's no rush once your order is in.

What photo quality do I need?

Better than you think. We work with faded, torn, water-stained, and creased photographs every day — damage is not a problem. What matters most is capturing what's still there. If you're scanning, 600 DPI is ideal. If you're photographing a print with your phone, lay it flat, use soft daylight rather than flash, avoid glare, and fill the frame with the photo. Send us the largest file you have. When in doubt, send it anyway — we'll tell you honestly if there's an issue.

Can I choose the music?

Yes. When you place your order, you'll tell us the mood you're after — tender and reflective, warm and joyful, uplifting and celebratory — and we'll pair your film with a soundtrack chosen to match. If there's a song that meant something to your family, mention it in your order notes and we'll do our best to find something that captures its feeling. We work only with properly licensed music, so your film is always safe to share and keep.

Can I request specific things for my video?

Absolutely, and we'd encourage it. Tell us the story you want told — the order the photos should appear in, a name and dates for the opening, a dedication at the end, the occasion it's for. Small details make an enormous difference: which photo should open the film, which should close it, who the people are. The more you share, the more your film feels like yours.

What happens if I'm not happy with the result?

We'll keep working until it's right. Every bundle includes three full rounds of revisions — tell us what you'd like changed and we'll adjust the pacing, the music, the sequence, the titles, or the colours. If a particular photo didn't come out the way you hoped, we'll re-work it. This is deeply personal work, and getting it right matters more to us than getting it finished.

How many revisions can I request?

Three rounds are included with every bundle. A round means you review the film, send us everything you'd like adjusted, and we make all of those changes together — so it's far more generous than three individual tweaks. Within those rounds we'll also re-restore or re-animate up to two individual photos if you're not happy with how they turned out.

Are my photos kept private?

Always. Your photos go into a private folder that only you and we can access. They are never shared, never sold, and never shown to anyone else. We permanently delete every file 30 days after your order is delivered, so download your keepsakes and store them somewhere safe. We will never use your family's photos in our portfolio or advertising unless you specifically give us written permission.

What if I have more than 60 photos?

That's no problem at all. The Archive bundle covers up to 60 photographs, and if your collection runs beyond that, just get in touch before ordering and we'll put together a quote for the full set. Larger family archives are some of our favourite projects — there's usually a much bigger story to tell.
